Leahmon Thomas Powell, Jr. passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on April 9, 1944, he lived a long life marked by devotion to those he loved most.

He will be remembered with deep love by his wife, Gale Ward-Powell, his partner of thirty-nine years. Their years together reflected a lasting bond and shared life built over nearly four decades.

Mr. Powell was a proud father and leaves behind a loving family who will continue to cherish his memory. He is survived by his daughters, Dr. Mechelle Powell, Bianca Taylor and her husband, Christopher, and Deidra Powell; and by his sons, Reyanaldo Powell and his wife, Linda, and Corey Powell and his wife, Irene. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Somerville. The love he gave to his family and the place he held in their lives will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

As his family and friends mourn his passing, they also honor a life that touched those closest to him in meaningful and enduring ways. Leahmon Thomas Powell, Jr. will be remembered with affection, gratitude, and respect by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Mary Lee Mabone Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at House of Faith Ministries 14915 Hwy 76 N, Somerville, Tennessee Reverend Cory Powell, Officiant. Interment McCulley Cemetery Oakland, TN.
