Lula Bell Johnson -Linsey, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on July 21, 1942, in Rossville, Tennessee, Lula Bell’s life was one marked by enduring love, dedication to family, and the quiet strength that defined her character.
Throughout her years, Lula Bell became a cornerstone for those who knew her—a cherished mother, sister, and friend whose unwavering kindness touched the hearts of everyone around her. Her legacy lives on through her children: sons Calvin Linsey, Lonnie Linsey, Troy Lindsey, Patrick Lindsey, and Curtis Linsey; and daughters Lula K. Stewart, Gladys Robinson, Gewndolyn Washington, Rhonda Perry, LaShanta Williams, Taquanda Lindsey, Marissa Linsey, and Fernezia Linsey. Each of them carries forward the values, compassion, and love instilled by their beloved mother.
Lula Bell’s close-knit family extended beyond her children to include her dear siblings: sisters Hattie Johnson and Nina Johnson, and brothers Ernest Joohnson and Ezeil Johnson. Their shared memories span decades and are filled with moments of joy, togetherness, and deep familial bonds.
As a matriarch, Lula Bell provided unwavering support, thoughtful guidance, and a listening ear to those who sought her counsel. She embraced her role with grace, uplifting her family and friends through both life's celebrations and challenges. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her children, siblings, extended family, and all whose lives were enriched by her gracious and loving presence.
Visitation with the family Friday, July 31, 2026, from 4:00 until 6:00 at Mabone Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 1, 11:00 am at Gospel Center COGIC Pastor David A. Hall, Jr officiant.
Interment Church Cemetery.
